The GreyWing Group is a private web based development company that specialises in investing in web and cloud projects. Started in early 2004 and named after the owner Graeme Wingate, who was recently defeated in being elected to the board of Nominet (the UK Registry). We have grown to become a powerful player in developing websites and the selling them on the open investment market. Recent sales have taken the turnover past £100,000 for the year 2009, which is a slight improvement on 2008. We expect to grow even further in 2010 as the online sector emerges from the economical slowdown before any other UK sector. What exactly do we do? The best way to describe us is as a company whose customers find it rather than we find them. We take domain names (Currently holding over 2000 .co.uk names valued at over £750,000) and develop them into small business that generate revenue from affiliates and advertising programs. Often we will get enquiries into the future of these domain names and developed sites from several third parties who express an interest in taking them over and moving them onto the next level. Our highest sale to date is £28,000 for an undisclosed domain name and developed website. We also actively try to obtain domains names on behalf of ourselves and certain clients that trade with us on a regular basis. We foresee that the new extensions being launched by ICANN in 2010 will promote cyber squatting and trademark infringements. As this happens, Google and other major search engines will assign value to the domain extension to which that domain carries. As .uk's is a well run and trademarks are protected from being abused, we foresee Google continuing to value this extension over many of the other extensions available in the future. With this in mind we continue to invest in this extension and monitor it actively for further price fluctuations.
